About us

Strathfoyle Women's Centre operates in the Strathfoyle area on the outskirts of Derry City and has been active since July 1986.  The group was formed in response to need expressed locally for increased leisure, recreational and cultural opportunities for women.

Strathfoyle Women’s Centre aims to advance education, to protect health and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for the education, recreation and leisure time occupation of women who by reason of social or economical circumstance have a need for such facilities.

The Centre offers individuals the opportunity to make a brighter future for themselves and their children, where women can access accredited and recreational and social programs which lead to employment of self employment opportunities, and which break the cycle of poverty and underachievement.  The centre works closely with Health and Social Services and other professional groupings to support the needs of vulnerable individuals and families living in the area.

It is demonstrative of its credibility and reputation that the centre has been successful in securing funding from a range of different bodies including the following.
